Please note: Our cancellation terms have been updated in line with COVID-19. These terms are applicable from 23rd March 2020 onwards. Please see the cancellations section below.

Acceptance of terms

Your access to and use of Maxwell Melia Academy (the “Website”) is subject exclusively to these Terms and Conditions. You will not use the Website for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms and Conditions. By using the Website you are fully accepting the terms, conditions and disclaimers contained in this notice. If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions you must immediately stop using the Website.

Course purchases should be made online or via telephone. There is a £95 non-refundable booking fee for Hair Extension courses, and a £200 non-refundable booking fee for any Hair Loss Integration courses. However, if you have chosen an online course or one of the payment plan options, 100% of the course amount is non-refundable. A confirmation email will be sent to you once the fee for booking has been paid. It is your responsibility to provide accurate contact information when making the booking, but please also check your junk folder.

The full fee of the course is payable at least 14 days before the training date and the purchase guarantees you will receive the course material and qualification within 12 months. However, course purchase does not guarantee a specific training date or location. Failure to pay the amount owed at least 14 days before your booked date will incur late payment fees, as well as the risk of losing your space on the course. A further email will be sent to you a few days before the training containing information regarding your course venue, instructions and details. If you have not received this prior to your training, please contact us. If you have any further queries do not hesitate to email us at [email protected].

Maxwell Melia Academy will not be held responsible for confirmation and emails not received by students and no refunds will be issued under these circumstances. Once any training material has been provided, all courses become 100% non-refundable.

Payment plans

Please note that if you choose to pay via a Maxwell Melia Payment Plan you must have completed your payments before you can attend any courses. If you miss the deadline for your chosen course then we will only be able to reserve a space for you on the next available course if you have let us know at least 21 days before the course date.

You can fast track any of our payment plan options by simply logging in and completing a payment early in your “Payments” area. Your final total payment amount will not be affected by this.

If you wish to apply to pay monthly while you learn and earn – please choose the Klarna finance option at checkout. You cannot use the Maxwell Melia Plan and a finance company for the same booking.

In cooperation with Klarna Bank AB (publ), Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, Sweden, we offer you the following payment options. Payment is to be made to Klarna:

  • Pay in 3

Further information and Klarna’s user terms you can find here. General information on Klarna can be found here. Your personal data is handled in accordance with applicable data protection law and in accordance with the information in Klarnas privacy statement.

Returns, course transfer or cancellation

Our returns policy includes all products on our website (excluding courses – please see below for details). Products may be returned to us within 14 days of purchase. All products returned must be unopened and in the original packaging suitable for resale.

Online course bookings are 100% non-transferrable and non-refundable. If you would like to cancel your classroom/venue booking, you can do so at least 21 days prior to your original booked training date with £95 cancellation fee for Hair Extensions or £200 cancellation fee for Hair Loss Integration Courses. Your course date or location can be transferred or placed on hold at least 21 days before your original booked training date for a £20 administration fee. This fee must be paid at the time of transfer. We may only transfer your booking if there is availability on the course requested. If you have placed a space on hold for a course that you cannot attend, full payment is still due at least 21 days prior to your original booked training date, and your space will be held for a maximum of 12 months from your booking date.

If you do not attend or cancel your booked course or refresher date without at least 21 days notice, you will still be liable to pay the full course fee and will forfeit your refresher space on future dates. Maxwell Melia Academy reserves the right to change or cancel a course date, the course venue or the educators at any given time without prior notice. In the event of a course cancellation, Maxwell Melia Academy will offer a course date transfer, but no compensation for any costs incurred. This does not affect your statutory rights, since purchase of one of our courses only guarantees that you will receive the course content and qualification, but not within a set date or location.

All cancellation and transfer requests must be sent in writing to [email protected]. Cancellations must state that you wish to cancel your course, otherwise your space will be placed on hold.

Cancellations due to COVID-19 are subject to the same terms as above. However, if Maxwell Melia Academy are required to cancel a training date or location due to COVID-19 restrictions or regulations, you will be offered a course transfer to another location and date, or the opportunity to complete your training online. Maxwell Melia Academy reserve the right to cancel any courses without any prior notice. Refunds will not be issued as all training courses can be completed in the same time frame.

Course completion

You will have 3 months to complete your course from the date you receive the course information from Maxwell Melia Academy. This includes live models that are required as part of all our training courses. You will be responsible for securing these live models, as well as sourcing and purchasing any consumables needed to complete these models. You will only receive your certificate and gain access to the graduates support hub once all requirements have been met. Please see below for details of your options after 3 months has passed.

Maxwell Melia Academy reserve the right to withdraw training for any student or revoke their certification at any time during or after course completion if the student or graduate is found to be non compliant of these Terms and Conditions or the accreditation guidelines, or found to be engaging in student misconduct. Students can request accreditation details from Maxwell Melia Academy at any time, as accreditation providers are course dependent.

Upon completion of the training course, all students will receive free support from Maxwell Melia Academy, for up to 6 months after the course date. Full details will be provided to you on the training day or in your manuals. We also offer an online support hub which can only be accessed by graduates of Maxwell Melia Academy. A refresher course can be taken free of charge within 3 months of training if you do not feel confident. However, you will need to ensure you book this with us in advance to ensure availability. Any refresher courses after the 3 months has passed will be subject to a fee of £195 to retrain using the student’s own kit within 12 months of the original training date. Otherwise, you can take our online refresher training for just £55 per method.

Student insurance and liability

You will be given information on the training day as well as in your training manual regarding obtaining the correct insurance for your business. Maxwell Melia Academy does not accept responsibility for any students who fail to obtain public liability insurance during or after completion of their course.

Maxwell Melia Academy will not accept any liability for incorrect fitting or injury to clients resulting from students following instructions given on our training courses, nor will they accept responsibility for any poor work completed by students. If you are not feeling completely confident to practice on live models by the end of your training course, please ensure you let one of the trainers know so we can assist further.
